Eloise Taylor, 89, of Roanoke Rapids died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Samuel Atwell Taylor and Louise Clary Taylor. She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Atwell Tilden Taylor and Louise Taylor. She was a 1942 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. Eloise was retired from Champion International Corporation. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

Eloise is survived by her niece, Cecelia Miller, of Fuquay-Varina, and her nephew, Michael Taylor and his wife, Jane, of Chapel Hill.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 11 am at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Corey Oliver officiating.
